Wink Starting a Medical Billing Business

I am a medical billing graduate and have worked a year in a doctors office, I was the only employee so I understand how everything works. Had a great run, but the doctor wanted to move and I wasn't willing to relocate. Absolutely loved it, but Alabama just isn't a place for me.

History done.

I have looked endlessly for a long time for work, anything. Of course the focus on medical billing since I went to school for it, it's what I enjoy doing.

I usually hear one of two things. "We send our billing offsite to a business." or "We simply can't afford to hire someone else."

Those two are reasonable, but I am sitting at home driving myself mad because I am a 22 year old male and I cannot find work, despite enormous efforts.

I could use the trade I have been trained in to start a business in billing and might be able to find some doctors that will outsource to me. All that is hypothetical. I'm at the planning stages right now.

Let me state now, I do NOT know how to run a business, I know how to run the workings of a business, but not an actual business. I would love to hear from others, do they think this is a start of something decent, or is this a disaster waiting to happen.

I just can't sit around any longer, I must find work, even if I must start a business and invent it myself!

You could try CHMB Solutions as they are hiring for medical billing, 1 yr experience, and it's an at home position. Just a thought.

Good luck.

I put in for CHMB solutions, if they're like everyone else I won't hear from'em, but heres with my fingers crossed.

Lots and lots of effort put in, and yet still, nothing.

Is starting your own business plausible? Not easy, not a quick fix, but plausible?

I have few options and time is not on my side if I want to continue my "privileged" position I am in now. I need a plan. Any help is appreciated.
